Latin spero as an "unsorted formation"[edit]
Why are PIt spezo and Latin spero listed as unsorted formations ? The PIE-derived noun *spéh₁-s shows exactly the same regular developments in its PIt Latin reflexes: rhotacism (PIE /s/ > PIt /z/ > Lat. /r/) and compensatory lengthening due to the laryngeal loss. Thus Latin spero can be regularly tracked back to the same root *speh₁ with an s-extension, which is not an unsorted formation. Malku H₂n̥rés (talk) 15:10, 3 October 2020 (UTC)
