*-t or *-at[edit]

@Rhemmiel: Why is “The full feminine suffix is reconstructed as *-at, *-t with lexically conditioned syncope”. On the contrary I have thus far seen *-t as the default, *-at as an alternative form; its ousting *-t being an innovation of Arabic and Ethiopian. Regard also Reconstruction talk:Proto-Semitic/ʔaḫwat-. So I imagine the page at *-t and an *-at page as {{alternative form of}}. Fay Freak (talk) 11:54, 30 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Fay Freak: Whether *-at or *-t is suffixed seems to depend on some Proto-Semitic syllable weight rule which afaik hasn’t been explicitly formulated. Having two pages like you said seems appropriate for the time being. Rhemmiel (talk) 01:46, 31 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
