Hypercorrection from Sâmbotin, under the assumption it's the name of a saint. From Old Church Slavonic Сѫботинъ (Sǫbotinŭ), from сѫбота (sǫbota) +‎ -инъ (-inŭ), from Proto-Slavic *sǫbota.
