Etymology

Sarna Dhorom, meaning "Religion of the Holy Woods" or "Religion of the Grove". Sarna means grove, and is etymologically related to the sal tree, hence Sari Dhorom - "Religion of the sal tree". Sarna is a blend of sar (sal) and Anna, a principal goddess of Sarna Dhorom, who is thought to inhabit sal trees.
