@ÀrdRuadh21, Droigheann: Is the genitive of Èirinn really Eireann with no accent on the E? It isn't Èireann? —Aɴɢʀ (talk) 08:58, 26 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Certainly, the È is long. GOC even has the derived term Èireannach on its list of recommended spellings. That said, in my experience omitting diacritical marks above [any] upper-case letters is as usual, if frowned upon, in Gaelic as I'm told it is in French. What do we do in such cases? Move the page? Keep it as a misspelling? As an alternative form? (Incidentally I hate that habit, so I won't try and attest accentless Eireann myself, although I'm fairly confident it can be done.) --Droigheann (talk) 05:47, 27 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]
