Could quite possibly be of Slavic origin: 'loče' is a Serbo-Croatian word which means taking huge amounts of fluid (normally refers to cattle drinking water), and is a typical colloquialism for binge drinking i.e. 'pouring himself with drink', same meaning as 'nalivati se'.
