@Atitarev The Ukrainian entry is all messed up. If it exists, it should go under Курбико not Курбыко, but it's not in Horokh so if it exists it must be quite rare. Maybe we should just delete it? Benwing2 (talk) 05:39, 21 June 2020 (UTC)

@Benwing2: I have deleted it. The correct spelling is Курби́ко (Kurbýko). If you see Ukrainian terms with ы, ё, ъ, э, or other not current or archaic Ukrainian letters, you can suspect they are wrong.

@Andrew J.Kurbiko: Your surname is only Ukrainian, not Belarusian, even if your ancestors may be from Belarus. Please check carefully when you make entries. @Benwing2, Andrew J.Kurbiko: Another very similar surname is Andrei Gromyko. He was from Belarus but his surname is Ukrainian, which is not uncommon at all, this includes Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko.

These are the correct spellings and transliterations in three languages - Russian, Belarusian and Ukrainian:

Громы́ко (Gromýko), Грамы́ка (Hramýka), Громи́ко (Hromýko)

Лукаше́нко (Lukašénko), Лукашэ́нка (Lukašénka), Лукаше́нко (Lukašénko)

[[Kurbyka]] is actually a re-transliteration of the Ukrainian name in Belarusian as it is spelled and pronounced in Belarusian - Курбы́ка (Kurbýka), due to akanye, which is reflected in the Belarusian spelling. The Russian pronounce it that way (with akanye) but the spelling is unaffected. Ukrainian doesn't have akanye. --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 11:12, 21 June 2020 (UTC)
