Possible etymology

Not in this case. OCS has another word, еще (ešte), that comes from *ešče. The etymology of аще (ašte) is unclear and debated, but it has apparent cognates in Old East Slavic аче (ače), Old Serbo-Croatian aće, Old Polish acz, and Old Czech ač, ače. The first two of these point toward a Proto-Slavic form *aťe, but the other ones don’t match. — Vorziblix (talk · contribs) 15:10, 3 November 2020 (UTC)
