To expand a little bit: the usual Russian dictionary label «устарелый» maps to three different levels of obsolescence in English Wiktionary: "dated", "archaic", and "obsolete". "Dated" means the word/meaning is rare and seems old-fashioned in modern language; "archaic" means that it's used only in a few traditional expressions or classical literature, or by a modern writer to artificially make a text seem old (e.g. in a historical novel); "obsolete" means that the word/meaning is completely extinct in modern language and is likely to confuse a modern reader if somehow encountered.
