Talk:дійний

@Atitarev This is listed in SUM, mova.info and http://lcorp.ulif.org.ua/ as feminine-only, under the lemma "ді́йна". Horokh lists it under дійний but without stress marks. slovnyk.me ([1]) seems to list some dictionaries that lemmatize it under дійний. Where do you think we should put it? @Atitarev mova.info also lists незаміжня as feminine-only, and жонатий as masculine-only. Benwing2 (talk) 01:36, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Benwing2: I can only find the stress on the first syllable ді́йний (díjnyj). This stress is correct.
жона́тий (žonátyj)/нежона́тий (nežonátyj) and замі́жній (zamížnij)/незамі́жній (nezamížnij) are identical to the Russian usage of жена́тый (ženátyj)/нежена́тый (neženátyj) and заму́жний (zamúžnij)/незаму́жний (nezamúžnij) where one word is used with men only and the other with women only. For completeness, we should include all forms. It only requires usage notes, compare with "pregnant", which is (normally) never used with men.
Ukrainian also has a term for both sexes - одру́жений (odrúženyj)/неодру́жений (neodrúženyj) (married/not married), which Russian and Belarusian lack. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 01:46, 29 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
