Really, some bozo or bimbo thought that полетать is some form of полететь. After all, it's logical, is not it? That's what you return.

In other words, do you understand, what is written here? The only reason for полетать here, it's that in лететь, there is written полететь as perfective. It's nonsense. Somebody thought that полетать/полететь is some kind of летать/лететь, but it's kinda as Татамович is Russian family.
