@Atitarev This noun is strange in that it has a different declension (in the locative singular) when referring to a person vs. an animal. Do you know if this distinction applies to other nouns? Benwing2 (talk) 02:56, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Benwing2: Yes, that's right. Compare also кане́ц (inan)->канцы́ and хло́пец (anim)->хло́пцу. --Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 03:06, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Atitarev Do you know if this applies only to nouns in -ц or also to nouns in -к/-г/-х? Also does this apply systematically when referring to people vs. animals? If so it almost suggests that Belarusian has an animal vs. person distinction along the lines of Ukrainian. Benwing2 (talk) 03:11, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Benwing2: I need to fix wrong inflection for селядзе́ц->селядцы́ (anim) and add пе́рац->пе́рцы (inan). These share sg locative but differ on acc.pl confirming your finding.
Not sure about -к/-г/-х. Some examples: барсу́к->барсуку́ (anim), мана́х->мана́ху (anim), гаро́х->гаро́ху/гаро́се (inan)--Anatoli T. (обсудить/вклад) 03:29, 19 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]
