Talk:чадо

@Atitarev Horokh and Slovnyk say that Ukrainian neuter animates like чадо have accusative singular like the genitive singular (чада), but mova.info says neuter animates have accusative singular like the nominative singular (чадо). Can you help me figure out which is correct? Other examples of neuter animates are гусятко, бабисько, сонечко "ladybug", рибисько, дівчисько, дітиська (plural; all dictionaries agree that the accusative plural of animates is like the genitive plural, as with all plurals). @Atitarev Also ладо. Other neuter animates include чудище and all the t-stem words (дівча, лоша, тетеря, etc.; see Category:Ukrainian t-stem neuter-form nouns), but Horokh and Slovnyk say that for these words, the accusative singular is like the nominative singular. It seems only for the words in -о is there a disagreement. Benwing2 (talk) 03:20, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

@Atitarev OK, Horokh and Slovnyk actually list гусятко, дитятко and немовлятко as having acc sg in -ко not -ка, so I'm not quite sure what's going on. Benwing2 (talk) 04:11, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

Also сонечко. (Slovnyk actually says both сонечко and сонечка are possible for the acc sg.) Another animate neuter is сонько, for which both Horokh and Slovnyk list the acc sg as сонька. Benwing2 (talk) 04:12, 29 June 2020 (UTC)

@Benwing2: I can see some rare instances of -а ending in the accusative. So I think you provide both forms fro these nouns, e.g. ча́до, ча́да. --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 05:17, 29 June 2020 (UTC)
