@Vahagn Petrosyan, barev. Any opinions on origin of this լոքո? --Abkhazian1 (talk) 17:59, 24 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Abkhazian1: I added all that is known. As far as I can tell, the form լոքո (lokʻo) is originally a Tiflis dialect variant and cannot develop from Old Armenian լոք (lokʻ), therefore it is a borrowing from Georgian ლოქო (loko). Georgian -ო (-o) can reflect the o-stem of the Armenian (unattested), as in კალო (ḳalo), ბურდო (burdo). I can imagine the fish name and camel name in all languages developing from a basic meaning "fat, heavy, awkward" in Iranian, but I am not aware of such an Iranian word. --Vahag (talk) 17:07, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
After writing this, I found many similar words in Turkic, Mongolic and Tungusic. I don't know how they are connected. --Vahag (talk) 19:24, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Can you write here those words from Turkic, Mongolic and Tungusic? --Abkhazian1 (talk) 20:48, 26 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Abkhazian1: I have mentioned the most relevant forms at լոք (lokʻ). More forms are available here. --Vahag (talk) 06:43, 27 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
