Yes Vahag, those mean "apricot", but in my dialect شیلان (şîlan) means "dog rose".--Calak (talk) 14:09, 21 July 2018 (UTC)

I added your parallels. Thanks for offering them. There are also parallels in the Pamir languages, which I did not add yet. It's a dishonest reconstruction. One musn't invent implicit meanings for languages (Georgian, Svan) just because one wants to make the root make sense; Georgian წირანი (c̣irani, “red”) obviously isn't attested anywhere, Svan ჭერამ (č̣eram) isn't glossed as "red-striped cattle" anywhere. Also there's the issue of the supposed Zan & Svan -e- ← *-i-.

The interesting part is the words he lists with -წი- (-c̣i-) that denote redness, i.e., Georgian წითელი (c̣iteli), წიქარა (c̣ikara), გაწიფინება (gac̣ipineba), Svan წიქრა̈ (c̣ikrä), but I don't see how you could make a reconstruction with these words because it makes structurally zero sense to link all these together. კვარია (talk) 18:02, 9 June 2022 (UTC)
