Compare Northern Kurdish kirêt (ugly, dirty).--Calak (talk) 11:29, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Calak, the unreliable Rehnas. Ferhenga etîmolojî ya kurdî too compares to Armenian, but it doesn't look particularly close. Justi compares the Kurdish to a certain Arabic word. Can you read that word? --Vahag (talk) 15:50, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Go to p. 331b, Arabic كَرِيهَة‎ (karīha), feminine of Arabic كَرِيه (karīh). Less probability cognate with Persian کرخت (kerext).--Calak (talk) 16:08, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Can't judge about the Arabic or Persian connection, but the connection with Armenian seems phonetically and semantically doubtful. --Vahag (talk) 16:35, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I am not sure too. However phonetically we can suppose kełt > *klêt > *k(i)rêt.--Calak (talk) 16:53, 22 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I guess, since the origin is uncertain, we could mention this uncertain possibility too. --Vahag (talk) 07:14, 23 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
