@Vahagn Petrosyan: Compare Central Kurdish مەڵەغان (melleẍan, scythe). I don't know anything about its etymology, but it is probably a loanword.--Calak (talk) 17:49, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Calak, this is very interesting. It must be an Armenian borrowing. I find it as melexan in İzoli's dictionary, who is a Kurd from Dersim. What dictionary can I reference for Central Kurdish مەڵەغان (melleẍan)? --Vahag (talk) 21:07, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Any CK dictionary like Henbane Borîne (page 833).--Calak (talk) 21:21, 5 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Very good. It is interesting that մեղեխ (mełex) does not survive in modern dialects. The borrowing must be old. --Vahag (talk) 10:50, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, should be before the 12th century.--Calak (talk) 11:02, 6 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Vahagn Petrosyan: Compare also Central Kurdish مەڵغە (mellẍe, lever).--Calak (talk) 23:06, 14 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Calak: Could you give a print source with page number for that word? I would like to add it with a reference. --Vahag (talk) 09:52, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
yes, {{R:ku:Hejar|page=833}} and {{R:ku:Mukriyanî:1999|page=854}}
I am not sure, but I think it is limited to my accent.--Calak (talk) 10:36, 15 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]
