הָ֑בֶל spelling for #Proper noun?[edit]

Bereshit/Genesis 4:2 also contains the spelling הָ֑בֶל for the Biblical figure. Bible Hub gives the transliteration "(hā·ḇel)"; I myself have heard either (ā·ḇél) or (a·ḇél), presumably in a more modern dialect. Can anyone verify the pronunciation(s) / add this / parse the dialects? BlueCaper (talk) 06:38, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It's something to do with it being a direct object, I think. A couple words later in Gen 4:2 Abel is the subject of a phrase, and there you see הֶבֶל. —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 06:47, 18 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
