Alternative forms

@Fay Freak, Fenakhay: Hi. Does the combination إيـ (ʔī-) ever occur in native Arabic words at the beginning of words? إِيبَلَة‎ (ʔībala) looks like "ebola" or something. If this spelling is right, then maybe the word is not of Arabic origin, or at least when it's spelled like this? --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 01:53, 8 January 2021 (UTC)

@Atitarev: Multiple things could have happened. As I implied in my edit summary, this particular measure does not occur, although there is always the chance for irregularity and this whole word I can hardly find to occur anyway; it may be a North Levantine dialect term. The gemination in the second vocalization is also unexpected. Do you have encountered the word in your audios or novels? If yes this may admonish us how little the web reflects actual usage. @Fay Freak: No, I didn't come across it in my readings. I've only come across إِبَالَة (ʔibāla) and also found it in dictionaries only in two forms, which I have added in my original edits - إِبَالَة (ʔibāla) and إِبَّالَة (ʔibbāla). --Anatoli T. ^{(обсудить}/^вклад) 02:22, 8 January 2021 (UTC)
