What is the relation between Persian سر (sar, "leader") and Hebrew שר (sar, "leader") = Akkadian 𒈗 (šarrum, "king")? I know that coincidences of this sort exist, but some relation would seem likely given the way in which these languages have influenced each other.

Incorrect etymology[edit]

Hello, I have read a contradictory etymology for the Persian word for ‘head’ which looks more probable than it coming from *ḱerh₂-, and that’s that it came from 𐤔𐤓 ‘śar’. LissanX (talk) 04:23, 17 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
