@Palaestrator verborum: I don't understand this definition. Could you reword it in idiomatic English? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 06:24, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply

@Metaknowledge I hope it is more idiomatically now? I could also reduce the passive expression which is in the original text however: “The term average means any partial loss and this implies the consideration of any loss that is not total.” Palaestrator verborum sis loquier 🗣 11:07, 4 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Palaestrator verborum: The issue is with the definition — does it refer to the lost goods, the financial loss, or the damage itself? —Μετάknowledgediscuss/deeds 17:34, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
@Metaknowledge The damage itself, the occurrence of the losing goods, as considered for purposes of accounting. But the other meanings are surely possible by metonymy, as language usually works, so I was not at all inclined to ask myself such a question. It seems like a pseudotrilemma to me (hah, I am the second man on the internet who uses this word). Palaestrator verborum sis loquier 🗣 17:46, 5 January 2018 (UTC)Reply
