Is there something wrong with this IPA pronunciation? Which accent is this? (See w:Arabic language#Examples.) 129.78.32.21 23:06, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you be more specific about what seems to be wrong? There are many ways to romanise the word, the current IPA shows the standard Arabic pronunciation, not Moroccan. --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 00:13, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I understand now. The link I gave above has /kitaːb/ as the MSA pronunciation, and it explains at w:Arabic phonology that "/a, aː/ advanced to [æ] in the environment of most consonants, including plain (non-pharyngealized) coronal consonants with the exception of /r/". So the pronunciation should probably be /kitaːb/, [kiˈt̪æːb] invalid IPA characters (//[]). 129.78.32.21 05:37, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No, I think it's just /kiˈtæːb/. I'm sure about the vowel, not sure about the consonant (symbol "t̪"). --Anatoli (обсудить/вклад) 06:06, 24 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
