If this really means "hello", please format as a Wiktionary article. — Hippietrail 02:09, 12 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Why is it classified as an adverb? shouldn't it be an interjection? --Diuturno 16:42, 9 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
An adverb is one of the parts of speech. An interjection is the way some word or phrase is used. Interjections are words that are one or another of the parts of speech, frequently adverbs. مرحبا is an interjection, but it is also an adverb. —Stephen 03:10, 11 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
