@AryamanA Hi! Do you know whether the 'Mute v' mentioned at Wikipedia:Manual_of_Style/Persian#Mute_v should be in the page title? For comparison, ख़्वाब (xvāb) has the 'Mute v'. Kutchkutch (talk) 23:30, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

@Kutchkutch: Basically, Classical Persian /xw/ is just /x/ in modern Persian. Other examples are ख़्वाहिश (xvāhiś), तनख़्वाह (tanaxvāh). In Hindi both /xw/ and /x/ are acceptable. —AryamanA (मुझसे बात करेंयोगदान) 23:51, 18 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@AryamanA: Okay, Thanks! The other Hindi loanwords preserve the 'Mute v', and if both are acceptable then it probably doesn't matter if the lemma form has it or not. Listing the alternate form is good enough. It's an interesting phenomenon in loanwords. Kutchkutch (talk) 00:22, 19 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
