- 11471 vācayati ʻ causes to say ʼ ŚBr., ʻ promises ʼ MBh., ʻ reads ʼ Hariv. [√vac]
- Pa. vācēti ʻ makes recite ʼ; Pk. vāyēi ʻ reads ʼ; A. benā (< vacaná -- ) bāiba ʻ to prattle ʼ; OM. vāiṇeṁ ʻ to take an oath, dedicate ʼ.
- Although the Pali term vāceti has च, the Prakrit term lost the च (See
{{R:pra:Sheth|वाय}}). The Old Marathi tadbhava 𑘪𑘰𑘃𑘜𑘹 (vāīṇe) does not have च. Therefore, it seems unlikely that the words in this cognate set are inherited through a Prakrit. Kutchkutch (talk) 08:47, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
Brahmi चंद्रबिंदु[edit]
@शब्दशोधक Your शौरसेनी reconstruction for स्वाँग (svāṅg) contains a Brahmi चंद्रबिंदु. Although there's a Unicode character for the Brahmi चंद्रबिंदु and spoken Prakrit probably had nasalisation, perhaps it would be best to use the Brahmi अनुस्वार instead.
