[edit]@Octahedron80 Isn't it more likely that the word was borrowed from Mandarin 廣東／广东 (Guǎngdōng) instead of Cantonese? RcAlex36 (talk) 07:58, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
- กวางตุ้ง is somewhat old word (>100yrs) said by Chinese migrants. (Thailand has ~15% people moved from China.) It did not come from tourist's Mandarin. กว่างตง is another word from (real) Mandarin by official transcription. // This phenomenon is common for weird Chinese names e.g. ปักกิ่ง/เป่ย์จิง, เซี่ยงไฮ้/ซ่างไห่ etc. They named things before Mandarin spreaded. --Octahedron80 (talk) 08:25, 11 March 2023 (UTC)
