@Vahagn_Petrosyan: what is მწავი (mc̣avi) glossed as in Abuladze 2014? In the original it's glossed as "canis aquatilis sive marinus" < (what's that, a seadog? it should obviously mean otter) კვარია (talk) 14:15, 19 January 2022 (UTC)

- I see, I was aware that it translates Armenian otter, but I was confused by Abuladze's gloss. Searching this weird sequence of words - "canis aquatilis sive marinus" - I can only find the Georgian word and also Armenian word (on some french site, glossed as otter). კვარია (talk) 15:15, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
- I see now what happened. Abuladze copied the Latin gloss of Old Armenian շնջրի (šnǰri) in Awetikʻean, G., Siwrmēlean, X., Awgerean, M. (1836–1837) “շնջրի”, in Nor baṙgirkʻ haykazean lezui [New Dictionary of the Armenian Language] (in Old Armenian), Venice: S. Lazarus Armenian Academy. Vahag (talk) 17:51, 19 January 2022 (UTC)
