@Bula Hailan Do we have textual attestations for the sense "new territory obtained by the Qing dynasty in wars"? Because the three dictionaries I have online access to only list the Xinjiang sense. Also, I think senses 2 and 3 are combinable—the definitions at 新疆 and Xinjiang are not separated into different senses. RcAlex36 (talk) 03:55, 4 April 2022 (UTC)
- @RcAlex36: Sorry for the late late reply! Haven't been on Wiktionary for a while. The sense "new territory (obtained by the Qing dynasty)" is a literal translation. I did find an explanation of the Chinese name "新疆" here: [1], but this is not an academic resource. All the dictionaries I have only list the "Xinjiang" sense too. I believe this was a mistake made by me and it is better to delete this sense. Best, Bula Hailan (talk) 03:43, 18 July 2022 (UTC)
