Derivation of やった

Does やった (as in Yay) come from the past tense of やる? It'd make sense since you generally say 'yay' after you've done/achieved something. Herg-derg-editor (talk) 22:37, 15 April 2017 (UTC)

Capitalization

I notice that nothing in this entry is capitalized. I thought there was a standardized method of capitalizing on Wiktionary. Article. Here's another article on "こんにちは" (konnichiwa), where everything is capitalized.

Indeed, there is no standard method, only common practices:

• English and translingual definitions are usually capitalised and end with a period.
• Definitions in other languages are usually uncapitalised and have no punctuation, but some people prefer use it for definitions that are written out (i.e., those that explain the sense rather than giving the English translation with a gloss).
• Etymologies are usually capitalised and end with a period, unless they are very short.
• Usage notes are usually capitalised and end with a period.
