Cantonese pronunciation[edit]

@Justinrleung Do you think you can get the pronunciation from this clip: [1] (23:22)? You might also want to add the pronunciation to the 亞答 entry. The dog2 (talk) 17:00, 10 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

@RcAlex36 Looks like Justin is busy, so do you think you can listen to the pronunciation in the video and add the right tones? The dog2 (talk) 17:57, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@The dog2: His tones don't sound like my tones, so I don't really know. I can only judge based on the characters, which would be aa3 daap3 uk1, but I'm not sure if that's right. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 18:05, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Justinrleung: So how would you pronounce this term then in your native dialect of Cantonese? I don't think this type of house exists in Hong Kong, so this would probably be a term that is exclusive to the Malaysian and Singaporean dialects Cantonese. The dog2 (talk) 14:48, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@The dog2: As I said, I would read the characters as aa3 daap3 uk1. It's not a word in my vocabulary. I relistened to the clip and thought aa3 daap3 uk1 would make sense (the tone of aa3 daap3 are higher than baak6 in the next word), so we could add that. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 17:10, 17 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
