Regarding to usage notes, I found a kanji with a 6 mora reading, さんしょううお Shen233 (talk) 22:45, 9 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Technically, given the way kanji and readings are related -- sometimes rather arbitrarily and in new and strange ways -- the comment in this entry should probably be amended to include something like, "the only officially sanctioned reading of a jōyō kanji". ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 00:24, 10 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Does it have two accents?[edit]

My dictionaries only show 5 as its accent. I don't see 0. Unless I once again missed another online dictionary Onionbar (talk) 00:06, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Onionbar: Ya, have a look at the superscript numbers in [square brackets] at the end of the line -- those are links to the references listed at the bottom of the page. Pitch accent pattern 0 is listed in the Shinmeikai 5 and the NHK pronunciation dictionary. I have a dead-tree copy of the Shinmeikai, and a for-pay digital copy of the NHK. I just checked both just in case, and both do list both pitch patterns, 5 and 0. Cheers, ‑‑ Eiríkr Útlendi │Tala við mig 00:11, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Oh shoot my apologies. I forgot the references thing existed. I'll look more carefully next time before asking questions. Thank you Onionbar (talk) 10:39, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes it’s also useful to look for corroborating evidence in the Japanese wiktionary. FYI Shen233 (talk) 03:04, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You're right, thank you Onionbar (talk) 10:39, 12 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]
