What does it mean?[edit]
What does this mean:
丿 (a basic stroke of Chinese characters, called 撇 (piě, "to discard"))
Can this be clarified at the 丿 entry? 71.66.97.228 04:51, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- Already clarified there, I think. Hbrug 05:23, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
It doesn't make sense, though. Was 丿, in ancient times, a kind of simplification of 撇? So it is an example of a "simplified" character, before the 20th century official simplification of Chinese characters? 71.66.97.228 07:18, 23 October 2011 (UTC)
- 丿 is a symbol called 撇, like & is called ampersand. —suzukaze (t・c) 01:58, 4 September 2015 (UTC)
