牙 as the main form?

[edit]

@Mlgc1998, Mar vin kaiser gê seems to be mostly written as 個/个. Is there any reason we should use 牙 as the main form? Any attestation of this? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 17:47, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply

Okay, I just saw that this comes from Min-Fang-Da. However, 個/个 seems to cover the ground better in terms of gê/ê. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 17:53, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung I was thinking of moving it to that one, but I haven't found an attestation yet on any website or book writing "種個"/"種个"/"种个", besides "chióng-ê"/"chióng--ê"/"chióng ê" written in books and some taiwanese websites. I am also looking for appropriate chinese characters for "hióng-ê"/"hióng-gê"/"hióng-é"/"hián-ê", but same problem as above, only the romanization is recorded in some dictionaries, books, and taiwanese websites. These books: 台灣話大詞典 and 聽布袋戲: 一個台灣口頭文學研究 seem to be talking about it, but I don't have access to them. Mlgc1998 (talk) 18:00, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
This seems to be a use of 種个. Other sources like 福建晋江话的指示词 and Weirong Chen's A Grammar of Southern Min write it as 种其/種其, where 其 is the supposed 本字 of gê/ê, often written as 個/个. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 18:20, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung Is the "種个" in this 歌仔冊 count? Mlgc1998 (talk) 18:44, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
That's 喜(hí) 種 个 人 袂曉 衰 "that kind of person", which is not the same. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 20:17, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung There's also this one, a recording of someone from Jinjiang, Quanzhou last 2015. The transcribers wrote "種的". Mlgc1998 (talk) 19:05, 14 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung I found this in 晋江市方言志 at p.117 (49 of 69), it seems to write "* 种个" and "* 响个". Mlgc1998 (talk) 13:37, 15 December 2023 (UTC)Reply
