冬堡首席 (talk) 10:23, 4 October 2019 (UTC) A small question. In the Chinese section, 笹's pronounciation is claimed to be xiǎo. I wonder if there is any citation of source about this. Since according to a document by Chinese mainland Ministry of Education, such Japan-made Kanji should follow several rules to be pronouced, which put 笹 as an example to be pronouced as shì. More about the document can be found on 日本汉字 - Wikipedia (Chinese page).Reply

Thank you for pointing this out. According to page 5 of 《日本汉字的汉语读音规范(草案)》[1], the recommended Mandarin pronunciation for in mainland China is shì. In Taiwan, the Mandarin pronunciation for is also listed as shì in the CNS 11643 database [2].
The reading xiǎo is sourced from page 73 of 《异体字研究资料集成・1期 5卷・俗书正讹》 where is listed as the orthodox form of . However, the work is written in Japanese, so there is no evidence of being used in Chinese as an unorthodox form of (xiǎo). Hence, the reading xiǎo has been omitted.
