Dialectal table

[edit]

@Justinrleung Do you think the Hokkien suffix niā can be considered a synonym for this if we were to create a dialect table? Also, what about the Cantonese suffix ze1 (Sorry, I don't know the character for this one). The dog2 (talk) 02:22, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply

@The dog2: Yes, these sentence-final particles (not quite suffixes because they attach to the whole phrase) sound like they would be equivalent. Cantonese also has zaa3 and zi1 maa3, which might also be appropriate here? @Wpi, RcAlex36, what do you think? — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 03:36, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@Justinrleung: Agree that these should be added, but I'm slightly hesistant towards adding the entire family of z- sentence final particles. – wpi (talk) 04:25, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
@wpi: Yeah, that was my concern. For sure zaa4 would not be appropriate here, also not sure about zek1. — justin(r)leung (t...) | c=› } 04:37, 8 July 2024 (UTC)Reply
