Showing up as square box

{{attention|zh}}
Thank you; I thought I had every possible CJKV package, including very rare Vietnamese chu nom. Are there more packages I need to get in order to see this? 71.66.97.228 21:39, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- There is this package which includes some of the most obscure Han characters out there. -- Liliana • 21:45, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
Thank you; is it free and how do I get the fonts? I cannot read Japanese. 71.66.97.228 21:46, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, it is free. The download link is halfway down (really just search for "zip" and it should be the first result), open up the downloaded ZIP, extract its contents and install the fonts. -- Liliana • 21:49, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
I've got it; thank you! 71.66.97.228 22:02, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
I put both font packages into my fonts, but they are not showing up alphabetically under "Hana," even after computer restart. I wonder if they have a different name. And this entry's title is still showing up as an empty square box. 71.66.97.228 22:36, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- That is odd. Do they show up in the font list? Tried removing and reinstalling the fonts? -- Liliana • 22:44, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
I tried it again and now the fonts are in my Fonts folder, but this character is still showing up as an empty square box. Maybe I will have to restart my computer or browser again. 71.66.97.228 22:45, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
- The browser probably won't update itself after a change in fonts, so yeah, try restarting it. (What browser do you use, anyway?) -- Liliana • 22:48, 30 October 2011 (UTC)
I am using Chrome. I still see this character as an empty square box. 71.66.97.228 20:12, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- Hmm, I do not use Chrome, so I do not really know how to help you. Possibly ask in the WT:GP? -- Liliana • 20:26, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
I went into the tools of Chrome and changed a bunch of fonts around. This character is always a square box (the new font is not catching it, somehow, though I have it), unless I set the new font (letter "B") as my default font--then it shows up properly. That screws up viewing everything else, though. 71.66.97.228 20:51, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
- Those characters can really be troublesome. I added a hack to my CSS to help this, but thta's not an option for an IP; however Chrome might support user CSS (I just glimpsed at Google), which would allow a similar thing. I really don't know how to set that up, though. -- Liliana • 20:56, 31 October 2011 (UTC)
Image too big
[edit]The size of the image scares me just like 𫝽 did. Is there a way to reduce the image's size? Thanks in advance. --Lo Ximiendo 05:47, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- Now it is 75 pixels. 71.66.97.228 05:56, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- Yes, but I find 40 pixels very safe to look at for me. --Lo Ximiendo 06:00, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
- P.s. I might find 75 pixels safe to look at for characters like 𫔭. (It's the same radical.) --Lo Ximiendo 06:03, 1 November 2011 (UTC)
