@Jakeybean This isn't actually in free variation with -toq. The initial consonant is a variable consonant which is /s/ intervocalically and after /ir/, and /t/ otherwise. Nielsen (who writes it as <T>) talks about it on p. 26, and Lybech, who writes it as <ð>, talks about it on p. 31. We could choose a symbol for it, or we could continue my hitherto practice of standardizing to <t> and passing to the VsV parameter, and then start making pages for the < s > forms that softlink back to the /t/ forms. What do you think? I'm somewhat concerned about too much notation becoming too inaccessible to readers. But if necessary, we can make an appendix that explains the notation, and then have {{kl-suffix}} give link to that.__Gamren (talk) 16:03, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hey @Gamren, I appreciate your help with this because I understand what Lybech and others are saying, but I don't always present it properly. I think eventually an appendix would be really useful. We can aim for total conformity and inclusivity while being accurate as possible. Personally I prefer accuracy over simplification that might leave out information. —JakeybeanTALK 16:08, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
