@Jberkel: I went back and forth on this but I think involvement is a decent definition. Perhaps it is worth noting somewhere in the entry that the meaning was originally more restricted, i.e. that it literally meant mitleiden-schaft and evolved from there to non-emotional things. Note also that Mitleidenschaften is attested plenty. I'm adding a citation that illustrates both of these points at once. — Fytcha T | L | C 02:23, 7 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
