I've had some trouble breaking down this form. It seems to be made of ákʼí-, "on self", a da- plural, a di- prefix, an s- third person perfective (I think), and a d- classifier on a stem something like ʼį́į́ʼ, ʼį́į́h. Stems like this I'm familiar with have to do with sight and visibility. I can't find any headword form I'd predict in Young and Morgan, though; it seems to me it should be something like *ákʼídishtʼį́į́ʼ (first-person singular, imperfective). Nor can I find any headword like dishtʼį́į́ʼ that would be appropriate. Ewweisser (talk) 04:22, 25 July 2014 (UTC)Reply

-tʼį́į́ʼ is an imperfective stem, from -d- + -ʼį́į́h, to look, see. ákʼidíníshtʼį́į́ʼ, I look after myself; ákʼiʼadéestʼį́į́ʼ, he/she/it looks after him-/her-/itself. I should check this when I have a moment, the tones might be improved ... I think ákʼidadéestʼį́į́ʼ is probably better for 3rd-person plural (trying to determine the best pronunciation ... both are used, but the latter is probably more standard). —Stephen (Talk) 17:36, 26 July 2014 (UTC)Reply
