Etymology

[edit]

The etym previously derived the Swedish form jointly from German and French but (a) the source here has nothing about any etymology; (b) the German entry doesn't list any similar alt forms and the main form provided has a separate etym than that given here; and (c) Norwegian has an identical form listed as borrowed directly from the identical French form. Seems like it's from French, possibly alongside a historical German borrowing of the same French word. In any case, it can be added back here and added to the Swedish entry's etym but if so it should also be noted as an alt form on the German entry. — LlywelynII 07:34, 20 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
