Former definition

1. Any sauce created as an accompaniment to barbecued foods.

I don't think 'any' sauce can be a barbecue in this way. Unless is varies in other parts of the world, barbecue sauce is a pretty specific sauce here in the North of the UK. Mglovesfun (talk) 10:38, 14 May 2010 (UTC)

Right, barbecue sauce is a particular genre of sauces. If you put Hollandaise sauce on your barbecue, that doesn’t make it barbecue sauce. —Stephen 21:48, 14 May 2010 (UTC)
