sense 2 vs 3[edit]

i think these are the same sense. its not clear, of course, just from a novel whether the beds being described had headboards or not, but it would be at least easier to imagine that way, since both examples talk about something being mounted there. you wouldnt put a light or a bell just sitting by itself in a bed. I sure hope this isnt the source of the belief that a bed head means the anterior part of a bed .... I just picked a playful name and the only meaning of "bed head" I knew at the time was the messy hair type. Soap 02:25, 28 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
