  Questionable neologism since the word prebend/prebendal is not composed of a detachable pre- prefix like "pre-Columbian", etc. -- although prebend's etymological origins are Latin "praebeo," from pre- and habeo, but the resulting noun is not deconstructable in that way.--达伟 11:28, 10 March 2010 (UTC)

See w:Bendel, a division of Nigeria. See prebend, prebendal, prebendary, prebendalism. The term seems to have gained currency in Nigeria more than anywhere else. It is hard to avoid thinking that the toponym "Bendel" has had influence. DCDuring TALK 00:32, 20 December 2010 (UTC)
