The Wikipedia article "Common heliotrope" redirects to Heliotropium arborescens, not H. europaeum. These are distinct species, not synonyms. Can the name refer to either one, or is one of the two sites mistaken? 70.172.194.25 01:34, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

If you're a gardener, H.arborescens is the heliotrope that comes immediately to mind, and the one that everyone seems to be growing. If you're a botanist looking at plants in the wild, H. europaeum is all over the place in Europe and grows as a weed on at least a couple of other continents. I believe there are other plants listed as "common heliotrope" in local floras for places where neither of the above are found in the wild. Chuck Entz (talk) 06:28, 10 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
