Car Talk puzzle entry[edit]

Complecting was the answer to today's Car Talk puzzle. The puzzle was to find the longest English word from which you can drop one letter at a time and have a new common English word at each step.[1] For example, from the word sprite, you can drop the e to make spit, the s to make pit, the p to make it, and the t to leave I. Wouldn't the winning entry be complects then? --Connel MacKenzie 16:56, 8 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]
