As a non-native speaker, I must admit that I may be wrong on the issue. But I happen to miss an adjective with identical spelling, yet different pronunciation "/kənˈtreəri/" i.e. someone who makes it a habit of contradicting others. It would be most appretiated if someone more knowledgeable than I could varify and (if need be) insert this variant. Thank you very much in advance! --Irma Vep (talk) 13:37, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
- Yes. My definition would be "actively hostile or antagonistic in opposition to any proposition" - but I don't know the funny pronunciation format, so I'll leave it to others to add (and figure out where to add it). SemperBlotto (talk) 11:20, 15 March 2012 (UTC)
Dear Mr. Knaggs,
With your kind permission to use the formidable definition you have given, I would simply try to insert it myself. I'm not an expert on the pronunciation format either but I'm confident I've got it right as laid out above.
At any account, thanks for your quick and helpful reply.
