Etymology section blaring error[edit]
The original meme is clearly in reference to Exit Bags, a popular subject of discussion on 4chan around the time the copium meme became popular. It is a portmanteau of cope and helium, not cope and opium, even if that's how it's understood in current usage. The frog in the meme is committing suicide via inhaling helium. Nobody would take opium via a tank.

- I apologize for reverting your edit without checking the history, but i still think we lack evidence for the word helium being involved in any way. I'm having trouble explaining my reasoning without repeating myself, but basically ... the word is not the item it describes. also, opium can be inhaled, so i didnt give the image a second thought. —Soap— 22:08, 21 March 2024 (UTC)

i removed the reference to helium that was in the etymology. the etymology is just about the history of the word, not what it refers to. —Soap— 17:44, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
