Pinyin is a romanisation, and as such conforms to Latin rules of capitalisation - that is, only capitalise when you are talking about specific countries or places. The clue is in the English translation - "mainlander" - which is in lowercase. Regardless, we NEVER split Etymologies for two nouns with the same Etymology! Thank you wasting my time, yet again.
