separable/ inseparable

[edit]

@Fytcha please have a look to see if this makes sense. The distinction between the forms seems a bit fuzzy and also gets mixed up by speakers. Statistically the separable form is a lot less common so I moved it to the end. Jberkel 16:17, 8 July 2022 (UTC)Reply

@Jberkel: Looks good to me. Personally, my Sprachgefühl isn't that strong between these two forms but for instance for durchschneiden I perceive a clear difference. Perhaps it would be an idea to either create a usage notes template for durch- verbs or to add usage notes to durch- to explain the semantic and stress differences. — Fytcha T | L | C 12:10, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
@Fytcha: I like the idea of a template for usage notes. I also noticed that on durchleuchten the difference is etymologically explained with either durch + verb (separable) or durch- + verb (inseparable). Logically it makes sense but I'm not sure it is correct. – Jberkel 12:23, 9 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
