In the English Wikipedia article about "On Top of old Smoky" the word Gangster was used as a verb: would the word (the noun- gangster) be being used as a verb, as in taking the lyrics, the territory of someone else , such as another gang. it seems right to say to take the lyrics' of another song', though also 'to' another song. maybe it refers to the lyrcs to the song being taken and not the music of the song. this all may be semantics. interested amateur
